Coming Soon: What I Know About Germans, the book!

by Zoë Noble

Earlier this year we ran a little list called What I Know About Germans, by Australian writer Liv Hambrett. You may or may not remember it. After extending it to 100 – a nicer, rounder number – it kept cropping up in German (and Swiss!) press and social media (hallo Bild.de and Stern) and we began to wonder … perhaps we’re onto something. Perhaps something a little bigger, with a touch of original artwork, can grow from this humble little list that swept a nation. And so the What I Know About Germans book was born.

We’ve commissioned one of our favourite artists (and fellow Berlin expat) Mischief Champion to create original artwork and Liv to capture a few more fresh observations. Very soon you will be able to have a little something in your hands (or on your Kindle) that is as pleasurable to look at as it is to read. Gird your loins, What I Know About Germans, the book, is on its way.

For now, here is a sneak peek at the first illustration: point 24, “Germans are always prepared for the rain”.
